Graham Gamble:

Just returned from a 6 day self guided trip with some friends where Paul booked and planned all the arrangements for us and had an amazing time. Paul met us at the ferry port and led us out of the City which was a great help . We then rode some stunning roads to our hotel with the odd detour even though Paul had mapped out the routes in advance for us , the different Garmin Sat Navs gave us different routes ! Over the next few days we had some “challenging” roads especially on my Victory Vision Tour ! Connah Pass being a memorable experience!! I have to say the hotels and food were first class and the staff in all the Hotels were really friendly and helpful. And of course the roads and stunning scenery made it an amazing trip and I am sure we will be back for more Irish hospitality and Guinness!! Thank Paul from all of us for a great trip.

Chris O’Dell:

“A group of 6 of us booked with Wild Irish Tours and headed to Ireland in May 2018. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days touring the South West. Paul had sourced fabulous Hotels with great service and food (and Guinness!) and provided us with excellent routes for our non-guided tour. He took care of everything from the moment we enquired, through to helping find a lost rider within 200 meters of arriving at Dublin.

Thank you Paul and the team – we’ll be back in the future I’m sure”.

All the best Paul.

Ian Irwin:

Paul,

Many thanks for a great tour.

We were impressed with your knowledge of all the good biking roads including a few detours we took due to adverse weather conditions, etc.

Thought the numbers on the tour were just about right, any more and we would have been too big a group to try and manage.
Accommodation was good with special praise for the Gourgane Barra Hotel due to its location and hospitality – it is not everywhere they encourage you to enter their kitchens when asking about ‘food’.
Daily mileage was spot on, any more miles would have been too much, especially with the number of coaches and hired cars on the roads albeit you tried to keep us away from the more crowded tourist roads.
We were lucky to get two great days of fine weather, just a shame it didn’t remain dry for the whole trip but that is a gamble we all take.

Would thoroughly recommend WildIrish Motorcycle Tours to anyone wanting a good motorbiking experience of Ireland.

Good luck with your self guided motorcycle tours of Ireland.

Cheers

Ian & Sandy.                                                                                              July 2017

Stew Haigh:  Hi Paul.

Many thanks for a really excellent trip, including the ‘iffy’ weather, which didn’t spoil things one bit.

Got home yesterday and now I’ve sorted out my e-mails and incoming work I really ought to get the bike out of the garage and give her a damn good wash and brush up.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, great leadership, good company, fantastic country superb hotels, so I suppose I’ll have to do it all again sometime (when I can get a pass).

One of the very best trips I’ve been on. Keep it up and I’ll see you again.

Bob & Susan Melvin:
Hi Paul,
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our adventure around the Wild Atlantic Way.
It may have been a bit ambitious for Susan and myself but didn’t want to miss out on anything, so kept going.
You may be interested in my blog from the visit at https://bobmelvinblog.wordpress.com/2017/07/07/wild-irish-rovers/
I have also written a report for the Club magazine, The Journal, which should be published in the next couple of months.

Frank Butler: I would like to express my gratitude to your first rate organisation of the recent Wild Atlantic Way trip.  In  a large group of this size there  bound to be some minor  niggles. However, in my opinion,  the hotel accommodation, food and planned  GPS routs were all excellent.  Some of the planned routes can only be described as breath-taking.  You  just had to stop and look.  Your  planned itinerary  of staying for 2 & 3 nights in the Hotels and exploring  circular routes taking in the Wild Atlantic Way worked really well.  Despite Rob’s accident,   I got the general feeling that everyone enjoyed the trip very much and many said they would not hesitate to return to perhaps,  complete the top end of the WAW. I looked at a number of Irish Motorcycle tour operators  before I decide to go with Wild Irish.  You were  easily the most accommodating in organising a trip around our groups particular needs and also by far, the best value.

Paul Berry: Flew 20 hours to Ireland, hired this Triumph Tiger 800 from Phillip McCallen motorcycle hire in Lisburn, south of Belfast. Then rode 1.5 hours down to Dublin to meet up with Paul FitzGerald of WildIrish Motorcycle Tours & 2 great blokes from England. We had a fantastic tour, rode 1700 kilometres, learn’t about Ireland, introduced to black pudding (not bad), drank plenty of Guinness & Irish Ale and told lots of stories & laughs….fantastic adventure !

David Bott: Just returned from a 5 day tour enjoying the Wild Atlantic Way with Paul, aka Irish Paul,  I traveled up from Swindon to Liverpool with my mate Andy and took the overnight ferry. We met up with Paul at an easy to find services very near the ferry terminal and met our fellow biker companion for the week, Paul Berry aka Aussie Paul.  Paul is an excellent host and each hotel we stayed at was very comfortable and very welcoming and for those where we eat dinner, excellent food too. The rides out each day were excellent and the scenery is just stunning, Paul took us on all manor  of roads  including , sweeping, twistys and coastal roads. Paul kept the riding within everyone’s limits and on occasion where a good stretch of road was on offer , Paul encouraged those of us ‘ who wanted  to play’ to press on ahead at our pace and meet at an agreed location ahead, he knew all the best places to stop for coffee and lunch , plus was an encyclopaedia on the various places we visited each day. I would strongly recommend any self respecting biker who wants to see and ride Ireland to use Paul services , you won’t be disappointed. And above all, Paul is a very nice genuine guy who loves bikes and showing off this beautiful country.

Roy Beniston: Hi Paul, Many many thanks for your superb Whole Way Round Tour in May of this year [2017], I cannot praise your efforts enough. We were favoured by some excellent weather and fantastic scenerary plus your organisation and involvement of the whole group was great.
Although I have done a lot of self guided touring throughout the UK and Europe over the years, this was the first time I have gone with a tour company and indeed, actually visited Ireland. I have to say it was wonderful to just relax, ride and leave the organisation to somebody else. It was an excellent job done, you managed a fairly disparate group of individuals wth great expertise.
The tour and accommodation was of a high standard and would thoroughly recommend Wildirish Motorcycle Tours to anyone wishing to visit Ireland. I will certainly be back.

Paul Drew: Thanks for all your hard work on the tour it was a fantastic trip and you made everyone feel relaxed on there bike with no pressure to ride outside of there own ability .
The pace on your tour was not only safe but also great for all riders from Harley to Yamaha R 1.
Nothing was to much trouble for you, collecting each rider off the ferry was fantastic and leading them right to the front door of the Hotel for a nights rest before the tour started is something other motorcycle tour holidays just don’t do. Well Done !!
IMG_20160920_131537466_HDRI could tell before I asked that you were ROSPA or Advanced  trained as your lines were bang on mine and I was an observer for the institute of advanced Motorists .
I have been away with other motorcycle touring company’s and I feel you have far exceeded them in so many ways. Looking forward to riding with you again.

Steve Kidd: “I have just returned from a seven day tour with Paul FitzGerald from WildIrish tours. My group was five bikers consisting of brothers, nephew and a friend, all of differing abilities. We met Paul on Monday as planned and on time. P1020564Over the next six days we did the whole way round tour, stopping at numerous beautiful locations en route. Paul was extremely knowledgable and gave great overviews of all the attractions which allowed us to make informed decisions about where to go and what to see. It was absolutely awesome. As I mentioned we were all of differing abilities and riding style, what I liked was the fact that Paul based his speed on the rider who least liked speed for whatever reason and made this clear from the outset. Two or three of us like to test and enhance our ability, and the routes allowed us to do this. Paul also made it clear that he would not join us as he would stay with those who didn’t want (as they saw it) to risk life and limb and licence! But he did not object to us going ahead if we wished to. The pre programmed routes were clear and easy to set in the sat nav, which meant, if I saw a, say,ten mile stretch of winding road before next deviation I could set off, pass Paul and the others and be joined by those who wished to participate, have a bit of a play and then await the group whilst catching up on a quick puff of nicotine.(filthy habit I know)at the next planned deviation. This was a fantastic tour and Paul a fantastic guide. I have previously done Europe and Scotland. Ireland was very similar in parts to Scotland as regard scenery. The hotels were all of a great standard and the tour overall was very reasonably priced. Paul knew all the best places to eat and drink in every town we stayed. I would recommend touring Ireland with WildIrish and would challenge anyone to find better. It was 5 star and a great big thanks to Paul for making it both interesting, exciting and a very pleasurable experience.
Cheers”

Barry Kidd: “Hi Paul, just a quick note to reinforce the comments made by my brother and son. We all had a great week with plenty of riding at a pace to suit all, fabulous scenery, plenty of social food and drinks in the evening and even a swim in the Atlantic! And to top it all we booked the Executive weather package which gave us no rain other than a bit of sea mist one morning. Once again thankyou for a great week. Hope to see you again soon”.

Ray Bridgman:
“Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for your expert arrangements for our recent holiday on the Wild Atlantic Way. We found your choice of hotels excellent but would mention especially the Kenmare Bay Hotel, which seemed almost to be in a class of its own. Your Garmin routes were comprehensive and easy to follow.P1020415

As I said earlier, we modified your ‘Day 1’ route to take in some of the Wicklow Mts. and then re-joined your route from Arklow onwards. Simon had visited the area in the past and was keen to show us the bits he remembered enjoying. We all enjoyed it and it was a great day weather-wise, which made it a great start to the holiday. Your tip to visit ‘The Reg’ was spot-on, with good food and a dozen musicians playing traditional music.

There was a bit of a disappointment on day 2, as the weather closed in, completely robbing us of any views of the Copper Coast. However, damp and dejected, we stopped in Youghal and found, by chance, an amazing little café/restaurant called ‘Sweet and Salty Cafe’. Their cakes are all home made and quite spectacular! That’s our top tip to you, if you haven’t already been there. Later in the day, the weather eased just enough to get some (restricted) views of the Healy Pass. We were so pleased to arrive at the Kenmare Bay Hotel, which was just lovely and even had a drying room for our wet riding kit. We ate in a pub with live music by Mac & Mel, singing and playing guitar, harp and low whistle. Real Ireland!!

Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara, Dingle Peninsula, Slea Head and Conor Pass all followed and left us pretty gobsmacked with sensory and emotional overload! [The Shannon Ferry now costs E9 for motorcycles, by the way!]

We approached the Cliffs of Moher with some despondency as the weather had, once again, closed in, blocking all views. However, after an hour or so, all became clear and we got the spectacular views we had come for, thankfully. The rest of day 4 was as amazing as anything we’d seen before, with The Burren and Sky Road, in particular, leaving us scenically intoxicated.

So ended your WAW (Best Bits) tour and we went on to complete our holiday by taking in some of Donegal, Derry, Giant’s Causeway, The Dark Hedges, Dunlops’ Memorial and the Antrim Coast. We were all exhausted but very contented as we all headed off home.

Thank you, thank you for everything. We’ll have no hesitation in recommending Wild Irish Motorcycle Tours to anyone interested in a holiday in your direction.

Thank you (did I already say that?) from all of us,

Ray Bridgman”
